Distribution : Chace (1986); Hendrick & Estrada-Navarette (1989); Vereshchaka (1990) - western Atlantic from south of Greenland to Gulf of Mexico and Bahamas; eastern Atlantic from the Faeroe Islands to Angola; Indian Ocean, South Africa; Philippines; Indonesia; Hawaii; Eastern Atlantic, off Oregon; Seamounts Sala y Gòmez and south-western part of Nazca ridge. French Polynesia - Bathypelagic - Mesopelagic (150 m at night and 650-800 m during daytime).
