Method This Database replaces the checklist posted in 1998 at http://biomar.free.fr/.
It uses PHP and MySql languages and has been developed with EasyPHP
, a free package including PHP/MySql/Apache. For convenience of handling,
the data are first entered in an ACCESS Microsoft database (Figure
1). They are then changed to Sql format using
MySql-Front software. PHP scripts included in the HTML pages have been
elaborated from the examples presented in Rigaux (2001): Pratique
de MySQL et PHP.
Feedback A lot of people have already helped to improve this regional
database: correction of mistakes, indication of unpublished field records, addition
of overlooked records/references, and transmission of photographs. Any comments,
corrections, and collaboration to this work will be greatly appreciated. Please,
send your mails to: poupin@ecole-navale.fr
