This field work was organized par Professeur René GALZIN (UMR 5244 CNRS/EPHE/UPVD) with financial support of the Coral Reef Program for the South Pacific (CRISP). Samples were made by Joseph POUPIN and Matthieu JUNCKER at Alofi, Futuna and Wallis Islands, 5-25 October, 2007. Most of the determinations were made by J. POUPIN during a short stay at the Muséum national d'Histoire naturelle, Paris (MNHN). As a result, a preliminary inventory of the most common Decapoda and Stomatopoda species of Wallis & Futuna Islands is in preparation and will be posted in 2008 on CRISP Internet pages. A more complete report of the carcinological studies conducted at Wallis & Futuna Islands is also envisaged with potential submission in 2008 (possibly Atoll Research Bulletin). The records from this field work will be also progressively integrated, with illustrations, in this Database, as a convenient mean to update the regional fauna.
